The Plant Management Network is a unique cooperative resource for the applied plant sciences. Designed to provide plant science practitioners fast electronic access to proven solutions, the Plant Management Network offers an extensive searchable database comprised of thousands of web-based resource pages from the network's partner universities, companies, and associations. In addition, the network's three peer-reviewed citable journals, Plant Health Progress, Crop Management, and Forage and Grazinglands provide credible current information in areas important to practitioners, policy makers, and the public. Also, the Penn State community can also access the following additional American Phytopathological Society (APS) electronic journals via the Network:

  • Biological and Cultural Tests
  • Fungicide & Nematicide Tests
  • Image Collection

There are two ways to access the Plant Management Network's resources: 1) through the Penn State University Libraries, or 2) by setting up your own complimentary personal subscription.
Please Note:
Access to the Plant Management Network using either of these methods is free of charge but is restricted to Penn State students, faculty, and staff.

1) Accessing the Plant Management Network through the Penn State University Libraries Site:

  1. Go to the Penn State home page (http://www.psu.edu) and place your cursor over Libraries
  2. Select E-Resource List (A-Z)
  3. On the E-Resource List (A-Z) page, scroll down and select Plant Management Network. Click on the Go There button.

2) Accessing the Plant Management Network by Setting up a Complimentary Personal Subscription:

  1. Go to the Plant Management Network Subscription Information page (http://www.plantmanagementnetwork.org/subscriptions/).
  2. Click on Complimentary Personal Subscriptions.
  3. Select Penn State University.
  4. Fill out the Account Activation form and click on Submit when finished .

Note that you can publish through this resource as well as have access to excellent, applied information on ALL aspects of plant health…not just plant disease info.

This partnership was made possible by funds given to the Department of Plant Pathology specifically for the enhancement of the Department's Library resources. By arrangement with APS, we are able to give everyone at PSU access to the Plant Management Network.

APSnet

A service of the American Phytopathological Society, APSnet provides online access to a variety of APS journals including Phytopathology, Plant Disease, MPMI, Plant Health Progress, Plant Health Instructor, and Phytopathology News. Other notable features of the site include links to the proceedings of various APS-sponsored symposiums and workshops as well as a searchable database of common names of plant diseases.
