Education |Experience
Bashar has been working at the Fruit Research and Extension Center for the past 6 years. He is involved with all aspects of tree fruit and grapevine production and management (planting, pruning, cultivation, pest management, IPM, etc.). Currently he is a member of the fruit pathology "Team." The Team's objectives are to research alternative methods of controlling diseases of apple and grape. Bashar has designed and built a grape sprayer and an aerated brewing system (seen above) for the application of compost teas.

B.S. Agricultural Engineer, 1985, Damascus University, Faculty of Agriculture
Experience:
1990-1997, orchard manager for the Rich Highland Orchard, Chambersburg, PA
1988-1989, produce buyer for Sabtieh Market, East Beirut, Lebanon
1985-1988, orchard manager for Arfan Jarjour's Farm, Syria
1981-1985, orchard worker
